approved gene symbol A1BG; abbr. often alpha 1B; also Alpha-1-beta glycoprotein. The amino acid sequence of this human plasma protein has been determined by Ishioka et al (1986). Alpha-1B-glycoprotein is a protein of unknown function that is present in normal adult plasma.
Udby et al (2004) have shown that the human secretory protein CRISP3 [cysteine-rich secretory protein-3] is a specific and high-affinity ligand for Alpha-1B-glycoprotein. Similar findings have been reported for other species (cow, horse and rabbit) (Udby et al, 2010)
