Adamtsostatin-4

Adamtsostatin-4 [ADAMTS4(527-545)] is a bioactive fragment (see also: cryptides) derived from the metalloproteinases ADAMTS4. Adamtsostatin-4 [GPWGDCSRTCGGGVQFSSR] corresponds to residues 527-545 of ADAMTS4. The peptide fragment has been shown to inhibit the proliferation and migration of human umbilical vein endothelial cells in vitro and is therefore thought to possess anti-angiogenic properties in vivo (Karagiannis and Popel, 2008).

For other proteins (or fragments thereof) with at least one additional activity that differs from the established 'classical' activity of the parent protein see also: Dual identity proteins and Cryptides MiniCOPE Dictionary.
