ADAMTS6

[a disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motif-6; ADAM metallopeptidase with thrombospondin type 1 motif 6] This protein is a member of the ADAM protein family (see: ADAMTS protein family). In human tissues ADAMTS6 is expressed at low levels in placenta and at barely detectable levels in a number of other tissues. The protein does not seem to be expressed during mouse embryo development.

ADAMTS6 together with some other members of the ADAM protein family has been found to be upregulated consistently in breast carcinomas (Porter et al, 2004).
