4-1BB ligand
abbr. 4-1BBL. This type 2 membrane glycoprotein (N-terminus inside) has homology to TNF-alpha, TNF-beta, and the ligands for CD40 and CD27. Based on its homology with other members of the TNF ligand protein superfamily the protein is referred to also as TNFSF9 [TNF ligand superfamily member 9]. The protein is called also CD137 ligand. Human 4-1BB ligand shows 36 % amino acid identity with its murine counterpart. The gene maps to chromosome 19p13.3.
4-1BB ligand binds to the murine 30 kDa T-cell activation cell surface glycoprotein 4-1BB.
