This cell line was derived from C57BL/6 T-helper cells (Maruo et al, 1997). The cell surface phenotype is: CD3(+), TCR-alpha/beta(+), v beta 11(+), NK1.1(-), CD4(-), CD8(-), CD11a(+), CD54(+), CD28(+), CD80(+), CD86(+), CD152(-).
The cells express IL12 receptors, show high responsiveness to IL12, and proliferate strongly in response to less than 1 pg/mL of recombinant IL12. Stimulation of 2D6 cells with IL12 induces production of IFN-gamma and IL10
