23-b6 peptide

This targeting peptide, SSPPKSP (Ser-Ser-Pro-Pro-Lys-Ser-Pro), has been isolated by phage display library screening as a peptide with high homology to the immunoglobulin-like domain D3 of FGFR1c, the predominant receptor mediating the phosphaturic activity of FGF23 (Huang et al, 2015). 23-b6 peptide antagonizes the inhibition of phosphate uptake by FGF23 in opossum kidney cells (OK cells). This activity involves the blockade of the activation of extracellular signal-regulated kinase ERK cascade and up-regulation of NaPi-2a and NaPi-2c expression in OK cells.
