This murine cell line has been obtained by Park et al (1990) from Whitlock-Witte long-term bone marrow cultures. The cells express lymphoid precursor and MHC class 1 antigens and also contain a rearranged mu heavy chain. 1xN/2b is an IL7 dependent early pre-B-cell line cloned from mouse bone marrow that expresses the pre-BCR consisting of µHC and Vpre-B/lambda5 (Namen et al, 1988). The 1xN/2b cells do not produce any kappa or lambda light chains (Park et al, 1990).
Oya et al (2003) have reported that 1xN/2b cells express LAT [linker for activation of T-cells
