1D4 antigen

This antigen is recognized by a monoclonal antibody of the same name. The antigen is CD138. Gattei et al (1999) have investigated the reactivity of 1D4. 1D4 recognizes both the intact molecule and the core protein of Syndecan-1. It shows a comparable reactivity in flow cytometry and immunoblotting with antibodies B-B4 and Mi15. All three antibodies appear to recognize the same or closely related epitopes of Syndecan-1.
